Our Superheroines

I am taking over the girls' blog today as I want to tell a story of our amazing girls, Santa and Minnie. I have always thought that this kind of story happens elsewhere and not right here at home!

For those who are not familiar with us, you can read a little about our living arrangement here. My sister, Cindy, told me what happened in her home yesterday and I am relating it here.

Yesterday, as usual, she took Beckham and Bobby out for their daily walks.

Santa and Minnie were home with Grandpa and Grandma (Cindy's parents-in-law)...
...and human brother, Ryan, who was doing his homework upstairs. Then Ryan heard the sound of a drinking glass being shattered followed by Santa and Minnie's barkings.
Before he could go downstairs to check out the commotion, Minnie raced up these steps, upstairs to where Ryan was and started barking to him. Minnie has never bark like that before, according to Ryan.
Ryan went downstairs with Minnie to the kitchen where Santa was still barking. There, Ryan saw his Grandpa lying on the floor with a shattered drinking glass! Grandpa had a dizzy spell while making himself a drink and lost his balance, dropped the drinking glass and he fell to the floor. Ryan helped Grandpa up and cleaned up the mess.

We were amazed at how Santa and Minnie acted. What they did was unbelievable! In the past, Santa has alerted Cindy of the boiling kettle over the stove and over-flowing water in the tub but we used to brush it off as a "coincidence".

Now I do believe that they are not "coincidences". Santa and Minnie are our SUPERHEROINES!!

WOW! How lucky you are to have had such amazing dogs! Is Grandpa all right?

~B~

PS: Thanks for sharing the video of how to teach the dogs to jump into our arms. I have been trying for ages, but this is a good method.

K9 are alert, they are very sensitive to noise. Your feeding them strictly on kibbles yet 7.1kg. How many times your feeding them daily? I think Lex will gain more weight as my mum feed him rice with meat + vege + gravy..... Lex only takes a meal per day and the bowl of rice is med size... might be lack of exercise....

Is Pinky getting short breaths running short distance? Lex is.....

Wow! Some girlfriends and I were just talking about this kind of thing last night. It's amazing how some animals really do know exactly what to do in an emergency situation. Good for Santa and Minni!

Hi Diana, yes Rubie got that comment re:weights through on the email, but blogger has not put it up on her blog. I think blogger just had a giant hic-cup last week!!

Rubie's weight is a worry for me. When she came to me at 8weeks old she was already 3kg - then at 16 weeks she was 7.2kg. She is very solid with muscle and has too much fat around her middle. She will eat anything and would love to eat all the time!! She even licks dust for extra calories!!

I did want a real small mini schnauzer - her cousins are (Zoe 7.2kg) and (Scarlet 11.8kg). Zoe is "abnormally small" which is why the breeder sold her and Scarlet is much taller than both Zoe and Rubie.

I will have to continue to restrict her food intake for her own good - am not looking forward to the "cute hungry pleading eyes" though!

xx Rubie's mum.

There are often story call-outs for amazing things done by animals. I think you should write your stories and send them to be published!
