It dawns on us that we could actually check if he has been microchipped. So a few days ago when Beckham had his annual vaccination, the vet scanned for his microchip. He sure has been microchipped!
Mummy went to the MKA (Malaysian Kennel Association) today and found his record. He was still registered with the breeder and what we wanted to know most of all is his birthdate. He was born on December 8, 2003 and that makes him seven today. Yes, today is his birthday!!

Now, Mummy is trying to get in touch with the breeder to transfer the ownership and to update the record.

I was microcipped as a pup, too, and THAT's how Mom knows what my birthday is and what my original name was (Buttons, of course!). My microchip also helped the police get the bad woman who dumped me out on the street a couple of years ago.
